This 2016 vintage of the second wine from Haut-Médoc third growth Château La Lagune is a great buy if you're looking for an affordable Bordeaux that's ready to drink. Produced organically and made by talented winemaker Caroline Frey, the blend of half Cabernet Sauvignon with 40% Merlot and 10% of Petit Verdot, the wine was aged for a year in French oak, 40% new oak.This classic claret balances primarily blackcurrant fruit with some leafy and leathery tertiary characteristics.
