The Hewitson LuLu Shiraz vineyard is superbly situated close to the coast. It brings cool climate elegance to Australia’s premier variety. Soils are an ancient seabed made up primarily of sandy loam and limestone. Grapes are hand- harvested in the cool, pre-dawn hours. The grapes are crushed and demstemmed followed by a three week maceration on the skins at cool temperatures. The young wines are aged briefly in temperature stainless steel tanks and bottled.
